The complete renovation of Ngorongoro Lodge has been inspired by the natural beauty of the place where it is located and the native fauna that inhabits it. Special attention has been paid to the protection of the natural ecosystem and the Maasai culture to achieve the perfect integration into the landscape with the smallest ecological footprint. An innovative infrared system manages energy consumption, being practically self-sufficient; most of the products and consumables used are purchased from neighboring villages and the lodge produces water thanks to its own bottling plant.

The decoration of each room is based on Maasai traditions and artwork from nearby villages, so that every corner breathes authenticity -including the bathrooms, equipped with local products-. Among the handmade decorative elements, homage is paid to traditional mural art in collaboration with the Sanaa project, a corporate social responsibility company that works closely with Meliá Hotels International.
